Aqualyx or Lipotherapy Treatment is a nonsurgical procedure whereby a medication is injected in order to reduce fat tissue. It can be used to treat persistent fat areas that have proved to be difficult to reduce with diet and exercise. The treatment can be carried out in various areas of the body including the hips, thighs, knees, area below the buttocks, abdomen, back, chin and the area under the chin (submental). The treatment dissolves and liquefies the fat cells, with the resulting fatty acids being excreted through the body’s lymphatic system.
Aqualyx is not a weight loss treatment and should only be administered by experienced physicians suitably trained in the procedure.

What happens during treatment?
An Aqualyx treatment typically consists of two injection sites. A local anaesthetic, Lidocaine, is usually added to the solution to minimize discomfort during the procedure.
Treatment sessions
The number of sessions required depends on the size of the area and the indication of the procedure.
A session can last between 30-60 minutes. Usually you can see significant results after one or two sessions. However, for best results, you may require 2 to 5 sessions of treatment, each session taking place 4 weeks apart.
For example, the treatment for fat under the chin and neck may require 1to 3 treatment sessions, whereas treatment for pockets of fat in the hips and thighs can require up to eight treatments.
